After totaling 10.5 hours into the game on couch co-op with a group of friends..it’s a good game but definitely follows too closely to its mother game “until dawn.”
Very disappointed that no accessibility settings can be used in any mode other than single player (seems a little ableist). Not to mention I had purchased the deluxe addition to indulge in death rewind only to find out halfway through our group play through it was unavailable for us.
Straight off of launch the game is terribly glitchy- with characters walking in the air, lines being repeated, NPC (at the time) blocking the way to an unexplored open area, etc. (we also had included the 80’s filter pack over our game, so that may have caused issues. If so, very disappointing to release the add on if it was known to cause issues)
We had only collected about half the items you could have during our play through, which on average was an hour per chapter. I wish we had gotten a new type of enemy, but alas this seemed too close to what we had seen before in Until Dawn.
Not to mention the fact we had hit the enemy dead on, got a cut scene that said we did, and then instantly were hit with a death saying “….. died because we didn’t shoot the ….”
A good game if you have the patience and are not expecting a terribly new concept to horror games.
I am looking forward to the next installment in October—have fun playing!
Edit: upon our second play through it seems that our 80’s filter pack for visuals had created the glitches we had experienced prior- this also prevented many frame issues when dealing with QTEs.
