I saw Paul McCartney’s new documentary film “One Hand Clapping” and thought it was extraordinary. Based on footage taken at the time he formed Wings, shortly post-Beatles. I found it a wonder to go back in time and catch glimpses of this musical genius at work. And I believe he really is a musical genius!! The man was born to sing & play music - it so easily oozes out of him. This film exudes that and what a beautiful, distinctively soulful voice!!
I was very surprised to actually see how close he & Linda were. She is a fine musician in her own right playing piano & keyboards. I imagined Linda to be very strong & self-confident in her love for Paul, and vice-versa, as evidenced by her place in the band playing right alongside him. I personally appreciate that & it fills my heart. Not only is Paul an incredibly good looking man, but he is also a creative genius for which this film clearly documents. It was truly fun to see footage I had never seen before. Fortunately, the theatre I saw the film had a great sound system - making the film truly come alive.
Paul himself introduces the film with a few surprise clips at the end. Treat yourself and RUN and go see this film if you can - I was very moved & came away with a deeper respect & appreciation for the man & his music!
