The first episode is a real mess and might leave you with a bad taste in your mouth from either the poor screen-writing or unusual editing, but I can honestly say that this show gets so much better. The characters really grew on me quickly, and despite the overly-dramatized college student stereotypes and a few shallow, one-dimensional personalities, I could not stop watching. Jake Manley and Sarah Grey have a unique on-screen chemistry that left me rooting for their characters, but in the end it was Vera’s (Katharine Isabelle) sassy moments and Hamish’s (Thomas Elms) subtle humor that really stole the show for me.
This story was a unique take on the supernatural that does a surprisingly fantastic job of seizing its potential with regard to the overall plot. It will give you surges of adrenaline, have you laughing hysterically, and leaves you with a cliffhanger that tugs at your emotions and has you begging for more. I for one, will be devastated if Netflix decides not to renew The Order for Season 2.
