I am listening to this book on audio read by Art Malik. I am 4 of 8 hours in. It’s difficult to stop listening! I work in a school with refugee children from another war torn region of the world who have come to Australia via different routes. Although I have learned more compassion (if that’s a thing), reading The Beekeeper of Aleppo has given me new insight and more compassion for this complex journey of humanity. I chose this book though because of the journey of reunion of a husband and wife after experiencing trauma and grief together. I was delighted to learn that that was the underlining theme. I look forward to hearing more.
