It's a social commentary rather than a horror. The actors did the best they could with the lackluster script they got. Here are my thoughts: 1. If Candyman is imbued with hate for those who wronged him in the past i.e. rich white people, then why is he killing kids? 2. Why was she spared and everyone else got their throats cut. 3. Shouldn't it be that the person doing the summoning gets a free pass and those that have wronged them gets the wrath of Candyman? 4. The past of Candyman shouldn't been the pivotal A story line and not the life of his reincarnation. Could've been better, but the writing is terrible as with many 2021 releases.

Complete distortion of the original story line with more plot holes than you can imagine: 1. No guards for the most important thing on the compound.. 2. Cheesy dialogue 3. Wrong origin story. If you're new to the universe, this is not even the opposite to the original material, it's just wrong. This should be burned and never seen again. Just watch the previous movies, GI Joe 2009 & 2013.
