Movie had terrible acting from about all actors (the sons, the wife, the police and Denzel’s friend/confident) for a lack of a better term, the performances were corny. Denzel did a mediocre performance ( he’s not wining an Oscar for this performance) and his character was super cringe at times, well most of the time. Also-Whoever was in charge of his hair did him dirty, it was dyed so dark and not evenly cut, which of corse isn’t a big deal but was a bit distracting and just made him look like an old rich guy who wants to hold on to youth, think of it as it’s that that super old uncle you have who dyes his grays and it’s super obvious and fruits to act part of the young “in” crowd but it’s just second hand embarrassment. For someone who is playing a multimillionaire, I think he’d look a bit more “natural”. A$AP ROCKYs performance was good, almost seems like he was just himself (in a rapper sense). Performance between both Denzel and asap was entertaining, in still not sure if in a good way or bad. The movie had too much of a soundtrack, not bad soundtrack but just seemed like there was new song in every scene, made the movie look like it needed filler from the lack of good performance and a good story line. Yes I know it’s just trying to get the point across and the message of “real art and talent” vs this generations fascination of social media and the high numbers that come with what’s hot right now. I kept waiting for there to be some plot twist to make the movie interesting, there wasn’t. Some scenes made no sense and was literally just filler. The plugs for State Farm and all state insurance was weird. The clip of girls shaking ass to asap rock was hilarious. And not to mention the unbearably long song at the end that seems more like a plug for a new up and coming artist. I’m surprise Denzel agreed to this move it’s so bad it’s almost comical. These highly rated revies has to be BOTS. I do have to say I’ll be having asaps song in my head for days, only thing I liked from the movie, other than that, Don’t waste your time.
