The movie is slow. It is also pointless and depressing. I gave it one star because there was no option for negative stars. I fell asleep repeatedly and each time that I woke up - It felt even more depressing because minutes felt like hours, and there was always it seemed, an hour to go. I love Adam Sandler, so I fought to like it. I never fall asleep when watching movies and this film surprised me by the frequency that the dreary soundtrack, depressing content, and unexciting zero gravity scenes - lulled me into a coma time and time again. It made me beg for it to be over. This film is a nightmare, because to escape watching it until it's boring conclusion, means enduring cripplingly slow cinematic torture. I literally makes you desperate to be put out of the misery of watching it. This film should've been done as a 20 minute short film, made as an art piece by a 4th year film student, needing an art grade. Then it would've been awesome!

This movie literally is a copy of the book "Lord of the Flies" and the 1963 and 1990 movies of the same title. The difference is that "Voyagers" depicted the story as a future space journey. The writers literally took plot themes and dialog right of the 1963 movie! It's a shame that the writers didn't bother to admit that they cloned a very famous book and movie series. Maybe that admission may have put it in context and made me like it better. Lastly, The science of the movie was pretty stupid. They're on an 86 year journey to an Earth like planet. The ship uses chemical engines to get there. If a chemical engine could get us to an Earth like planet in 86 years, we'd have known about the planet for at least two hundred years. We'd have Hubble images that could map out every river on the planet! ...and let us NOT EVEN discuss what happens to the human body when exposed to deep space due to an airlock opening! Sheesh that was the stupidest scene in the entire movie!
