First to talk about the positives:
This movie is very stunning with it's 70 mm footage.
Baraka is very interesting in the way it explores cultures. And makes for a fascinating viewing experience. (The music is great too )
But overall it wasnt that gratifying to me, to me. The idea of a message shown through every culture just didn't land, as the film lacked focus
I think the biggest problem this film has, is that there is no overreaching message. If your gonna make a wordless film about aspects of life. You should try to have goal to show about humanity. But instead we only see a look at humanity rather then it's internal struggles and meanings.
I still enjoyed this movie, solely as a cool viewing experience (it's one of those movies to watch while high) but i would recommend that you watch the film koyaanisqatsi instead l. As it has great visuals and music. And still has amazing message to take with you, For me it it is a 5/5 movie. And baraka unfortunately can't compare to it. Even with it's better aspects
