Have really enjoyed this series and was looking forward to its return. Very disappointed - felt last nights show (7 Jan) is taking this programme the way of many soaps, aiming for sensational and far-fetched story lines instead of sticking to the day-to-days lives of ordinary people which has been its successful format up to now. I was 20 in 1969, living in the north, not in London’s East End, but would question some of the content in terms of accuracy. Maybe this is another series that has run its course and should be laid to rest.

Really disappointed, was looking forward to a new Sunday night drama but could not believe the BBC would try to palm us off with this rubbish. Only watched episode one, too much violence and far too much use of the f…. word - won’t be watching any more.

I took two of my grandchildren, a 10 year old boy and 9 year old girl to see Barbie and we left before the end. There was no real story line, the concepts and messages that were sent out were misunderstood and wrongly interpreted by the children (who are both intelligent kids) and I had to keep trying to explain what the “story” was about. As a 74 year old I do realise that I was certainly not the target market for the film, but quite frankly I was disturbed by the image of the “real world” that was portrayed, and I thought the rant from Sasha’s mum about how women are viewed was completely over the top. I have been really interested to read other comments about the movie - they made me think I must have watched a different film!
