I am not a musician, I enjoy listening to music. With that said, in my humble opinion, it seems to me all original and subsequent band members of Pink Floyd were highly skilled from their very first album, The Piper at the Gates of Dawn. I enjoy listening to the evolution of a band. Therefore, if I am listening in the correct chronological order I feel Childhood’s End is the first song in which I hear the sound of the Pink Floyd we are all familiar with today. Although the album doesn’t sound like the 1970’s Pink Floyd we are familiar with entirely it is nonetheless a very enjoyable album. The sounds and technologies the band was experimenting with then was the playground in which propelled them into the band they would become.
