I am a major Marvel and MCU fan but this film really did not feel all that great. The action is fantastic, however, the dark undertones of this film really just was over the top. The fact that they turned Wanda into a full on mass murderer after she had the same opportunity in WANDAVISION and chose the higher road just didn’t make sense to me. I love Wanda as a character in her series and am neither happy nor impressed by this twist. Seems like poor writing and an attempt to really tie together all films without a concern for the reputation built for this character. Furthermore, this film really opens scary possibilities for the MCU as a whole - if this is as dark they are beginning with how much darker will they go? I left the theater really torn and feeling upset. I LOVE Marvel movies and usually am always positive about what they put out but this really was very gory and dark, the film was just not impressive. I hate what they did to Wanda who Elizabeth Olsen does an AMAZING job of portraying! Crazy action - A plot with no substance - amazing acting from Elizabeth Olsen and Benedict Cumberbatch - no emotional connections built just destroyed - A crazy ride from beginning to end that leaves you with the feeling of confusion and a yearning for something better and more. Also, this movie should be rated R.
