Sophia Coppola s movie was splendid to look at ....the costumes and interiors and countryside lovingly and accurately captured the beauty of the period.Unfortunately the rest of the movie failed miserably. Lousy script,weak direction, unsatisfactory ending, one dimensional performances did it in Too bad ... the real story is so much more interesting.

I t hought this was a really good film that was indeed a realistic look at the ups and downs of life as a football player,coach and owner. Raw ambition, medical ethics, greed , competing loyalties are called into play. Strong acting. Young players with huge egos ,older players not willing to give up even though they're bodies have hit th pavement...given up long before they're minds have . New owners who think they know everything and through it all an aging coach who runs the game in his head morning noon and night...a guy who loves it so much that he cannot and will not give up.The love affair with the game is a gritty one but well worth watching for a couple of hours on Any Given Sunday.
