So I watched it twice, this is what I loved about the movie, casting and the effects were top notch. Not taking anything away from the lead, Robert Patterson can act! I think the twilight films gave him a bad rap.
Elizabeth Debicki who plays the damsel in distress, is not really a damsel in distress, she wants out of her situation, and plays on the opportunities given, not the men providing it. She has self agency without the political rhetoric that is injected into some female characters, as of late.
A lot went into this film, the way everything was blended together, (effects, Actors, plot) compliments the story telling. You can tell by how the characters were developed that they operated and displayed a level of self awareness which made them believable as characters.
It can get confusion at times but worth watching.
