A return to the series' roots that pulls off the metroidvania concept at its finest, while also adding its own improvements. The game starts off with beautifully animated cutscenes and a wonderful introduction to a new part of the world that new and old metroidvania and Shantae fans will adore, and it only gets better. Instead of wait times and tideous transformations like in previous entries, the game pulls the best from Pirate's Curse and gives the player quick, easy to use abilities that can be used at the push of a button, in addition to a wonderful, expansive map filled with imagination, fun platforming, and a humorous, colorful cast.
