Just watched the latest trailer and disappointed doesn't begin to cover it. As someone who's read and/or listened to this book at least 6 times, my first question to the folks that made this movie would be - "Did you read the book?" they took arguably Clancy's best story and totally missed. Clark in prison? his family murdered? Clark out for revenge? smh! The movie doesn't even look like it was shot in the same decade as the story. It appears that the only thing this movie brings from the book is the name of some of the characters and the title. Being a streaming service, Amazon had a great opportunity to make this story into a 7-8 part series to fully tell the story of John Clark, instead they stole the name of the book and author, borrowed some of the characters and applied the whole 'my family was murdered, I have to kill everyone' formula in 2 hours. that premise works great for John Wick, but not here. The irony is that they probably are proud of themselves for being 'creative'. If you haven't read the book and are going to the movie - please read AFTER the movie or you will be disappointed! The trailer was enough for me.
