Elizabeth Copeland

While only (very loosely) based on the origin story from Killing Joke, which left us in mystery whether it was really true or not, this movie really tried to cement itself as a real origin story, killing all previous hard work to create mystery around the Joker. Over simplification and over explaination of the common tropes of mental illness, abuse and brain injury and social injustice left me bored as well as kind of pissed off that they try to hard to solidify this version as a true origin story. Honestly, I couldnt wait for it to be over and was just extremely bored as any plot twists were over-dramatised, obvious and lacking.
