It was fine, it wasn't bad but it wasn't great. Producers definitely chose the safe path and didn't really take much risks. It's filled with clichés and very predictable, but then again, it's a kids' movie, however it is sometimes a little too on the nose. It's a kids movie,I can't believe critics are actually being serious and harsh on it lmao. Even so,for a kids movie made in 2008,i like it a lot. It's a nice comedy fantasy about a kid who basically has a generational curse/ability to summon food out of his hands with a little bit of romance sprinkled in. It's short and sweet,the soundtrack is awesome,and I appreciate the little,"Food Fight Clean-up - pretty much everyone on set",and an honorary thanks to the janitorial services in the credits. It's a nice touch. Overall,if you're having a boring afternoon on a summer day or whenever for that matter,this movie is a great watch. It's not too serious,there's no heavy topics to make you go into an existential crisis,it's just a simple story that induces happiness. If you're looking for a movie that's actually for serious audiences who want a top-notch quality storyline and an award-winning cast,then go on ahead and watch whatever else that are supposed to be those things. This is for kids and people who don't take themselves too seriously,we watch for the sake of watching,not to ruin the simple joys in watching a simple movie with unnecessary judgement that no one asked for. Absolutely loved every second of it,10/10.
