Positives:
- fun songs
- good dance choreography
- fun acting
- fun new characters
- fun seeing younger versions of characters. The actors did great
- fun to see some original actors reprise their roles
- fun story
- cgi improved immensely compared to the first 3 movies
- fun to see Brandy and Paolo Montalban reprise their roles as Cinderella and Prince Charming from the 90's Cinderella movie with Whitney Houston (although their story was tweaked to fit the story and world of Descendants 4)
Negatives:
- My biggest issue was the ending was rushed and left open. There was no climax. All of a sudden everything is just... good and ok unlike the original Descendant movies which did a much better job at formatting their story... BUT like the originals they tease at a sequel. And the current issue will carry over to the next movie. So, that's fine. But there should still be a climax that puts us at the edge of our seat, hoping the protagonists win. And instead it felt like the resolution was just plopped into our laps unexpectedly
- I said fun songs above, and that's true, but I honestly can't think of a song that stood out. I don't have a favorite like I did in the originals and nothing was catchy enough to get stuck in my head
- not a fan of one of the villains being Ursula's younger sister. Why not just use Ursula? It made no sense. Unless I missed something and it was explained.
All in all, I would rewatch. Like I said, it was fun. I enjoyed it. And for a kids film it did a great job. I personally think they may try to make this a trilogy like the original with the new characters and have old characters making a short appearance. I'd be ok if they continue. I'm curious to see the rest of the story. I just hope they do better with the endings.
