Let me preface this review by saying that this film is exactly what you expect from a Terrifier film.
The hype for this is not really warranted as it’s about the same as T1 and T2.
The writing was no different from the last film but at least the acting wasn’t as cringy but it was still not great.
David Howard Thorton as Art kills it (get it?) like he normally does.
While there are some hints as to what Art is there is also a lot of confusion as to why the sister of the victim in the first film is back and what exactly she is. It’s eventually cleared up through an ugly disposition dump (again, the writing in this needs work) but is worded confusingly.
Not spoiling but the ending didn’t feel like the actual ending, so prepare for the film to end rather abruptly. It may be 2 hours long but feels like it’s longer despite the action.
Overall, I believe the film that Damien Leon should focus on the makeup and practical effects and hire a director, writer and editor.
I also would advise any Christian or Jewish individuals away from this film due to the heavy Christ imagery but if you aren’t that big or don’t get bothered by it, then it shouldn’t be much of an issue.
SPOILER-ISH:
The opening scene is not as intense and does not live up to the hype as everyone says.
Art just does what we’ve seen him do before.
There is a scene in the middle of the film in the mall that is rather jarring and disturbing but other than that, nothing too bad.
