Wtah??? Did the producers just cast a net over every inbred location they could find??? Not one of the "experts" on this programme had a tooth in their head and were probably married to a cousin who was married to their brother before that!! Just weird folk and I couldn't pay attention to anything they said. Aside from the fact, if you know you are going to be on TV, tidy yourself up a bit, comb your hair, brush yer teeth (or tooth if you have 1) etc. These folk were hard to watch and it reminded me of "wrong turn"....embarrassing putting them on tv. Didn't even make it to the end of the first episode

I'm ashamed to admit that I actually read this over a long weekend in the police station after a scrap with my ex partner (was 20 years ago in my defence and he was a pillock) Needless to say I was extremely grateful I had a book at all, but I defo picked the right one, and for years after I couldn't remember the name of the book or the author and spent a long time searching Google for it. I finally found it and am going to read it again, I thoroughly enjoyed it and might even check out some other books by the same author after reading this. Its an interesting tale from start to finish and well worth a read

Absolutely loved it from start to finish! I grew up watching prisoner cell block H with my gran, and Bea was always my favourite character, it was, at first off putting to see a completely dissimilar actress step into the role but by god did she deliver! Excellent choice for a formidable position to fill, same could be said for pamela rabe taking on the humongous shoes of Joan "the freak" Ferguson! Her performance was absolutely stellar and I found myself invested very quickly. Ferguson in prisoner was a tough act to follow, how easily she played the most evil individual in the prison was a masterclass in acting and pamela rabe easily had me convinced. This is most definitely the best series to ever come from Australia and its worth every second of your time! Gritty, brutal, heartwrenching, realistic and eye opening all at the same time. Fantastic watch

I'm no quitter as a rule but I'm giving up! I've made it to season 2 which is a miracle in itself as so far I'd normally use a series like this to send me to sleep. It's soooo longwinded and tedious and I'm now sat wondering why it's still on my tv?! I like to see things through (even if I need matchsticks for my eyelids!) But this is asking too much, I've no idea wth is going on now and tbh as soon as they killed off Sam shepherd's character I should've killed the show. Why it has so many rave reviews is beyond me and I'm left thinking these people have far too much time on their hands. This series is plain awful, you have been warned

Boredddddd! Wow, managed 8 episodes and now I'm toiling to stay awake. Nowhere near as entertaining as breaking bad and I am at a loss as to why it has rave reviews?!! Seems like the creators were just trying to ride that cash horse and pump out what they hoped would be as widely received as BB, but for me this fell way short. It was like reading a rather dull persons diary, not much going on apart from the daily grind. I won't be watching 6 seasons, in fact I won't even finish season 1. Shame

Just getting to the end of season one and I'm already losing interest. I'm wondering how they can possibly drag this out for another 3 seasons?!?! It's been good so far and I'd like to see it through but 4 seasons of a lass rambling on about how hard life is will probably send me over the edge myself! One season would have been plenty but greedy creators lose focus and churn out episode after episode, series after series just to line their pockets and the audience suffer for it. I honestly don't think I've got the energy to see it through to the end.

Utter trash and not a patch on the uk version! The acting is awful, the characters are nothing like the mancunian lot, but they are happy to use the scripts and plots of our version. Can't believe they cast William h macy as Frank?!?! Really?? The most meek man in the States, and not convincing at all. Where is the comedy? I didn't even find it slightly amusing. This was a severe mistake from Paul abbot, lending his name to this. Stay clear of this kids version, watch the original! The acting, characters and the whole series is far superior

After watching "Stay close" and thoroughly enjoying that, I thought I'd give this a go. Deary me! I'm four episodes in and it's only just dawned on me I have literally glazed over and have no idea where the hell this is going. It feels like each episode is detached from the previous and almost like you are watching a completely different series?? Nothing ties in and it's so hard to follow all the characters, who are never really explored individually. I can't even say whether or not I'll reach the end because as I type I'm looking forward to doing my housework!! That's a novelty for me. The only thing that has kept my modicum of interest so far is some decent British actors, without these though I'd not have made it as far. Can't see it redeeming itself anytime soon.

Managed 30 minutes then woke up to the credits, this was sooooo boring. I normally love everything Stephen Graham does but this for me was a snooze fest. Not even a slow burner (pardon the pun) just monotonous. I haven't bothered going back to watch the rest because if it can send me to sleep once chances are I'll not make it through a second sitting. So you'll get no spoilers from me, but from what I did see I wished I hadn't. Utterly forgettable.
