Having been an Anne Rice fan since the beginning of the 80s, I can say that I’m very disappointed in the fact that the story was rewritten in order to disguise, historical events and rewrite them. That being said, the new storyline is great, but its not true to the characters written by Anne Rice. The character of Louis is not strong and tortured by his own unraveling. It’s just not the original story and that’s where I have a problem with things. The fact is Hollywood takes too many liberties these days, and tries to kill the essence of a true original great book by rewriting it. The character of Lestat is spot on, too bad the storyline to begin. The book was completely thrown out. If you get a chance, please read the book. It’s much better than the series as most books are better than the television versions.
