I didn't like the movie. I visited Graceland in Memphis in December 2022 and loved everything about it. They emphasize the positive aspects of his life and family. I went away with a really good feeling about who he was, and I know this sounds strange, but we have a lot in common and at one point I thought to myself, "we could have been good friends."
But the movie paints a very different picture. It had a serious tone throughout, pushing politics every possible chance, absolutely no comic relief, I felt no connection to any of the characters. I was just plain bored with it.
Had someone been thinking, they could have used the movie to promote Graceland as an attraction/destination by including more scenes and props which are on display there. (Some were included, like a few rooms from the mansion; cars; and his airplane, but they could have done so much more!!)
If I had seen the movie first, I don't think I would have visited Graceland because the movie gave me such a negative vibe, and I would have missed out on experiencing a really interesting place.
