Terrible casting doomed this remake. This Dickie Greenleaf lacked the charm and charisma of Jude Law. Tom Ripley is old and weird and creepy, the kind of man who could never be a successful con artist because he is conspicuous in his odiousness.
And Freddy! Played by a woman and doesn't even remotely pass for a man.

It's exceedingly difficult to believe that this is a serious, objective account of the events leading up to and immediately following Harry and Meghan's exit from the Royal Family. Seriously, what genre on literature is this? It portrays the two subjects as rare specimens of human perfection, luminous and wise and easily qualifying for sainthood. Meanwhile, it smears everyone who has ever dared to withhold effusive praise for their virtue and righteousness. It beggars belief!
