The number one thing you need to know is TURN OFF THE ENGLISH DUBBING and listen to the German 5.1 audio while reading the subtitles. The nuances and emotion are totally lost by the TERRIBLE dubbing actors. It is like listening to dialogue by Speak n Spell. Now...If you like intricate storytelling with satisfying resolutions to nearly constant questions, this is the show for you. It is an absolutely brilliant script. You spend an episode or two (or five) in the 'dark' about a character or plot line only to have it (sort of) resolved and another merry chase is on because the tables are turned by jumps forward or back in time. They also did a phenomenal job matching physical characteristics of the players across decades of time. Totally believable. Worth the watch!

Interesting that so many people say they are sorry they took their kids to this movie because it has sad and kind of scary parts. Did you research the movie before going to the theater? It is rated PG. That means "Parental Guidance" suggested. Do you not know your own children well enough to anticipate that these themes will be upsetting? This is a lovely movie, for more mature children. As the rating suggests. Use your common sense and don't take a 3 year old to a PG movie.
