Absolute tripe. Apart from the BBC version from several months ago this series was shocking. Do not honestly know why I kept watching it apart from possibly thinking it would improve, which it did not. The Alien machines looked like they were constructed from a childs meccano kit and made K9 on Dr Who look superior. If they'd have asked me at the end if I had been affected by this War of the Worlds version I would have replied yes I was comatose! Absolute garbage.
