Changing a literary classic to satisfy the BBC's 'woke' agenda was bound to be a failure. Low production values required the usual darkened CGI and just did not look realistic. A hot air balloon without hot air, a rampant feminist Rebekah Brooks lookalike (tenuous link with a newspaper where did she come from and apologies to Ms Brooks) Passepartout was a condescending insult. Non of the subtle humour associated with narrative. I wonder if Tennants newly found 'wokery' and distaste for the British Empire had an influence on his confused portrayal of the mildly eccentric Fogg well, if so why not just enrol in pantomime next year. Wasted one hour of my life. One star as there is not a negative alternative.
