It’s a nice clean show not full of swearing and sex but it’s a bit hokey. The character Jack overdoes the “night club singer” act a bit. He’s also looking a bit shaggy in the second season (unshaven, weight and frumpy clothing).

I stopped watching this show because of the lack of a good storyline. It seemed like it was a good idea with Humphrey leaving Death in Paradise and wanting to start a new life with the woman he loved. They don’t get married and the focus is all on having a child but not making a commitment to each other. He and most of his team come off as dumb and bumbling about their jobs. It’s not realistic and gets irritating that they don’t seem to learn and grow in their characters. Martha is written as being sad or depressed about something in every episode.

The current season 14 with the new Inspector is so much better than the past seasons. It was tiring to see one bumbling inspector after another. They wouldn’t be in that position if they were so dopey. The storyline actually connects better for his character through each episode.

Started out just like all the other “couple home renovation teams” on HGTV. Seems relatable then quickly turns into a “formula” for each house (landscape, roof, move the front door, Replace windows, all new cabinets and appliances, etc. etc.) The costs are not realistic. They cost way more to do than what the budgets are. Also what they say people “need” is so unaffordable to most families and unrealistic. Each child gets their own room, bathroom, playroom? Weight room, sauna, Really? Especially when they did renovations for their families and themselves.
