This is a great movie. I usually don't like horror or scary movies, but this one is worth watching in theaters. If you know about Korean history and culture, it will help to understand it deeply because there are so many metaphors, meanings, and background stories. The names of the main characters, their license plates, the gestures of their second son, the tower of a temple, a fox, a tiger, an iron sticks............It is everywhere in the movie.
However, my friends, who do not know much about Korean history and culture, enjoy this movie. After we watched the movie, I explained some metaphors and history to my friends. They were very surprised and said that they wanted to watch the movie again. If you know someone who knows Korean history and culture well, bring that friend with you. 😉
