Where do I start. Could have been way better but equally not that bad either. Don't know what they were trying to do with the humour in the movie but it's like they tried to force it then thought better of it and stopped anything that could actually be funny. I liked that they tried to make it a bit darker and jumper, which I thought they did quite well. One thing I wasn't looking forward to was the supposed love side plot between the younger Spengler and a female ghost but in the end it wasn't over the top ramming it down your neck and might be construed as a friendship rather the a forced dei push. The fire master character for me was a waste, it brought nothing, no humour or serious threat to the big bad guy. And the legacy characters where also kind of wasted, venkman for instance was a shadow of bill Murray's original character which was sad to see. I think going forward better direction, better and writing could help this cast make decent movies. The old guys need to be allowed be themselves (venkmann) or not be included at all. Overall it wasn't great but it wasn't absolutely terrible either. If you're an avid fan you'll find something you like, if you are looking for well written, strong storytelling with really good humour you'll be disappointed.

Compared with the first film this one is a massive let down. Loads of stupid stuff like the fact that wonder woman and what his name fly to Cairo in a stolen fighter jet without refuelling ( at least 2 stops for fuel) and loads of other silliness. Yes I know it's a superhero movie and that makes it silly by definition bit the non silly stuff should still make sense. Pedro Pascal was poor in this movie which surprised me as I really rate him. There was loads of over the top Hollywood mush about man being essentially good, all pie in the sky stuff which made the movie cringe worthy. The biggest problem I had with the movie was that. Wonder man, this hero goddess who is incorruptible and moral to a fault completely and utterly didn't give a damn that what's his name was reincarnated into the body of another man who lost his life to make way for her fella. What's his name had a problem with it, after a few days but the hero was quite happy to let someone die or just not be so she could have her man. Kinda goes against the whole hero thing. Not sure why anyone is reviewing this movie even decently, it was poor from the first minute till the last and was probably 30 minutes too long. Honestly in my opinion this was DC's poorest movie yet.
