I genuinely believe that the ‘fast food’ horror movie industry (conjuring, the nun, insidious etc.) has trained audiences to rely solely on cheap jump scares and predictable storylines.
It really takes a movie as special as Nosferatu to expose this disappointingly large audience, which leave the film’s masterful cinematography, artful themes and carefully paced storyline to become nothing more than throwaway comments such as ‘boring’, ‘slow’, or ‘weird’.
If you don’t go into the movie theatre with expectations of scare drivel, I believe you will enjoy this film very much.
