It took me ages to get around to watching this and I have to say, I could probably have lived without it! The cast are great but wow! What a convoluted and drawn out method of telling a story, this needed some serious editing…. Much of it is a bit of a pointless gore fest which oddly makes it less scary as it leaves no space for the nuances of imagination. Honestly though, I think it has been rather cumbersome in all it’s incarnations, now I have read/ seen them all I can finally lay it to rest for good! Hopefully everyone else can too!! It Chapter 3…. Really? Is it necessary?

Oh my goodness, I loved it! Sort of David Lynch-esque surrealism and I didn’t ‘get it’ but I didn’t mind! It could mean a miliion things or nothing at all... I just found it creepy and strange and beautifully shot and performed! If you want a slasher movie don’t watch it... but if you want something that will make you think then do! If you liked Sinister, Heredity, Midsommer you’ll get this enough 🙂

It’s alright. Brad Pitt is good, in fact all the performances are but the message is overdone and I don’t know, but all space movies seem to follow the same pace, visuals, score as 2001 and none of them are as pioneering, this is no exception in my opinion.
