The first "Emma" adaptation I have ever watched, the cast's characters endeared themselves at the times they ought to, entertained throughout as best they could. Will definitely recommend. Loved the "innocence", Bill Nighy's comedy and the landscapes of England.

A very difficult film to "like"; it most definitely is not stereotypical, nor Hollywood format - that is appealing in itself. Stellar performances from all the cast = 3 stars. Am still trying to get my head around it. If it encourages people towards WB Yeats then that can only be a good thing, yes?

4 stars. I enjoyed stepping out of 2024 for two hours; without having read any reviews in advance, I was unsure what to expect and found myself pleasantly surprised - in Shanghai. The fact Natasha Richardson has since passed away makes this film all the more of interest. I am still puzzling somewhat over her character's back story though. Nil nudity and minimal romance highlights a good script can hold the audience's attention without depending upon titillation.

Bought it as I'm obsessed with Bill Hader. It actually made me jealous watching Amy Schumer getting it on with Bill. Re-watching it, I found it even funnier the second time. Not one my Mum would approve of...as she is VERY religious but I am glad Judd Apatow decided to make it. Slightly biased (!) but definitely worth watching, if one is a Hader fan.
