I think the biggest difference between the first film and the second, is that the first was penned by great American author Michael McDowell and the second was written by generic screenwriters/show runners who have worked on almost everything under the sun. They know how to make a good-enough show to sell tickets, but not take it to the next level or find greatness. This is on par with how almost every movie feels in the last decade - good enough for average but no greatness and forgettable. Similar effect to how GoT played out after the show diverged from GRRM's writings. Showrunners can put something together, but don't have the storytelling talent that real authors have.

I liked this one! The characters and side characters were all likable and by the end you feel like you actually know them and are sorry for what they're going through. Mant horror movies don't give you the opportunity or character development to feel anything. It felt very period appropriate as well! They did a great job of the immersion. There were some genuinely scary parts. The CGI wasn't overdone and they did some non-CGI effects as well which was great! The camera on the fan was clever. I'm not sure why Hollywood doesn't understand that with this type of movie less is more. Less sound effects, less CGI. That's what made PNA 1-3 memorable.

I enjoyed 80% of this movie. The plot seems hokey but was genuinely scary and well acted in the beginning when the teens are messing around with the hand. Spoilers and analysis: Mia's relationship with her dad was underdeveloped and because of that, didn't have an emotional impact for me and wasn't really well explained. The ending was very weak (like many horror movies), disorganized and not well developed. I didn't feel anything and had to Google what was supposed to be happening. It felt a bit like ripoffs of other movies, only not executed as well. I think with another 20-30 minutes of slow character and plot development filler, it could have been a great horror movie.

I feel like it's impossible to trust online reviews anymore. It seems like most of these people are being paid to post a stellar review or are fake profiles spamming so the movie shows up as having a better review. This movie was awful. period. whether you've seen the old one or not. If you've not seen the old one, you'll just roll your eyes and say to your neighbor "geez, when did movies get so bad"? Maybe you'll finish your popcorn and drink before leaving early and vowing never to take a chance seeing a movie in person based only on Google reviews again, maybe not. If you've seen the old movie, you'll probably leave the theater in the first 35 minutes because it's such a laughable insult to the original. No depth, no cohesion in the story, characters have no development or personality, situations don't feel believable and the actors are so miscast /so badly done it completely takes you out of the story. I'm starting to believe there is no talent anymore, there is no production talent, no directing talent. I'm left feeling horribly depressed about what the movies in the future are going to be like.

This is absolutely an amazing game. I have put in 200 hours of gameplay since April and it has been a fantastic distraction during the quarantine. There is a never-ending supply of things to be curious about, explore, be surprised and delighted by, and shoot for. It's a low pressure game - there's no pressure to fight or be chased, etc. You explore! You fly to planets, mine things, get into economics, do little missions, salvage ships and freighters, make deals, send out your own fleet for missions, build bases, it just never ends. It is not a shooter game by any stretch of the imagination, however, and people who are into that type of game could find it boring and ponderous. The graphics are beautiful. It seems astonishing to say, but I could see myself playing this game for the next 5-10 years and putting in well over 1000 hours happily. It's not a perfect game, but it is very very good. For reference, other games I like are The Elder Scrolls(all), Star Wars KOTOR, Minecraft, Dragon Age Origins, and the Final Fantasies.

I have read everything I have been able to get my hands on concerning this story, including both Into thin Air (more from Rob Hall's team's viewpoint) and Anatoli Boukreev's The Climb (more from Scott Fischer's team's point of view), I recommend both for viewers intrigued by the backstory. I think this was probably a very difficult story to bring to a movie, not just the location presentation, but including enough details about things that happened, and not getting caught up in the quagmire of public disagreements between Jon Krakauer and Anatoli Boukreev. The movie focuses more on Adventure Consultants and Rob Hall's story, but there is an entire additional half of the story that was glazed over, that being Mountain Madness Scott Fischer's story, which is just as interesting, if not more so. I was bound to be disappointed after investing so much of myself in the real life events, but I thought the movie didn't develop the characters much, you really don't learn much of anything about the fascinating people that made up this tragedy and there was so much gold to mine from it. My parting thoughts are, while I didn't think the movie was that great (although undeniably beautiful to look at), I hope it inspires people to look up the real story and digest all the intriguing information out there about it.

I've never been so glad I stuck out a show. I admit, I thought the first three or four episodes were cheesy beyond belief and at that point, bad writing. But looking back, I can see that the writing wasn't bad, I just couldn't see the full picture yet. There are definitely some cheesy moments early on and you have to get used to cgi being everywhere and in everything, but now being on episode 26, I can say I've never had a love story affect me like this. I've seen nearly every anime in existence and almost as many kdramas, but this is just...spectacular. The acting, writing, cgi, and creativity is a level above. I'm so glad for all 36 episodes and that they decided to make the series as long as it is. I wouldn't change a thing about it, and plan to watch it over again several times. And I'm head-over-heels in love with Dylan Wang now.

I'm sorry, but this is just not good TV. I'm really surprised it's a PBS show. It is very clearly modeled after the Great British Bake Off, but where that show excels, this one misses the mark in almost every category. It has a shallow, flighty, disorganized format that is overwhelming to watch. It doesn't teach you anything about food, technique, or expand your food knowledge. You come away not fed and mentally nourished but with the feeling of having eaten junk food. All the judges feel like hosts rather than knowledgeable and professional masters of their trades. The show is not executed with enough skill, intelligence, or depth.

This feels like authentic Star Wars to me, and I'm very picky. The casting choices were spot on, Stellan Skarsgård is fantastic, Diego Luna is perfection, the minor roles are done well. I found it easy to lose myself in the story without being distracted/annoyed by bad writing or an inauthentic feel. There is an underlying stress and tension that makes you feel like you're in the trenches with them. You can feel what the rebels are up against in the Empire and what's at stake, the quiet desperation. It's not a relaxing show to watch. At the same time, you get an inside look at the workings of the Empire, how people with fanatical leanings are radicalized and hardened, its bureaucracies and rigid hierarchial failings.
