This movie is obscenely bad. How in the world is it nominated for an Oscar? I feel as if a bunch of movie critics got together to see if they could convince the population that an objectively bad movie is, in reality, a masterpiece, simply because they say it is.
This movie is full of plot holes, Phil inspires fear in no one, and the memory of Bronco Henry feels like a stab at satire. If this film is viewed through the lens of satire, it might work. Sadly, this film is not satire; instead, it asks the audience to take the subject matter very seriously, a request I found myself unable to accomplish.
