Great cast but zero characterisation means we just don’t care. The plot may be based on legend, but the screenplay is so derivative of many texts from Shakespeare to Indiana Jones but has no real depth or originality and even the cinematography, whilst stunning in places, is bathed in cliche. The script must have looked fantastic to attract such a stellar cast, but with such lack of depth to the plot or time given to building backstory there was little even they could do to save this film which just tries too hard and falls on the side of ridiculous.
