I think the reviews are a bit over the top honestly. I started watching Season 2 episode 3 last night. Truly hoping for a much better episode than last weeks court hearings on the first officer. Afraid not though, it was a go in the past to Toronto or wherever really, and change the time line plot. That storyline is so wore out whether its in a holodeck or time travelling messenger. I hated when TNG would do those. Take advantage of modern day graphics technology and show me new species, new storylines, extreme star ships, unique planets. Plots that take 2 to even 3 episodes to complete. The first 3 episodes of season 2 are a let down. TNG and a distant second is DS9, they were the last great Star Trek series imo. Hopefully Strange New Worlds, will actually have some strange worlds this season.

Season 2 was much better than season 1. The things they were asking the contestants to cook, had little to do with barbecue. I would llike to see the 2 judges compete under the same rules. Season 1 should have been for Chefs with the knowledge of world cuisines and how to cook those meals. To watch these judges critique food that they couldn't cook is shaming. This isn't a barbecue show, its a cooking competition. Season two is much more barbecue related.
