Don’t waste your time. Clearly “sex strike” Milano, as one of the producers, was at pains to ensure her activism was going to leave no stone unturned in her desire to create unbelievable alpha female characters, which are liberally dotted throughout the film, regardless of plot or acting ability…neither of which was evident.
Apparently there is no nuance in the current identity zeitgeist and either women are portrayed as overly assertive/uber capable/positions of authority, etc or are innocent victims of male predatory behaviour. What the majority of women are supposed to make of this, I don’t know, let alone the majority of men.
If Milano wants “representation”, she may want to think about exactly who she is so keen to represent, when she goes trolling for funds for her next attempt at putting her politics on the small screen.
The “misogyny and patriarchy” quote from her character, the inevitable fist in the face of a weak, white, middle aged male, without a physical response from said character and the general acquiescence of any male allowed to have brains and testosterone in order to allow Milano to fight the good feminist fight, rather blights this drivel from the beginning. Go woke go broke, indeed!
