As someone who’s father was in a nursing home for eight years, honestly this is hard to watch, and yet, I can’t stop watching it. The reality of nursing home life is cleverly portrayed in this show. My dad was never without a daily visit in those eight years, but so many others were forgotten. In a scene where the “never there” daughter screams for her mother’s ring after she dies of the staff let’s her have So often at Christmas, families would show up that I hadn’t seen all year. I wanted to scream at them too. Mr. Gervais wrote this at a level of humanity that makes me ask once again, “ Where does this come from?” He did it in Afterlife as well.
