I'm not a batman expert, but have seen every batman movie, much of the animated show, and the old school batman TV show. I thought this was a really good batman movie. Its not like the more recent movies, but reminded me of the older Tim Burton batmans in a way, which I loved. I was worried Robert Patterson wouldn't have the right presence to be a good batman, but personally I thought he did really well as a young batman. I loved the cinematography as well. Very gloomy and dirty the way I imagine Gotham would be in real life. It gets a little slow in some parts but not horribly. My only real complaint was that penguin was kinda lame.
