I came in to watch this Indiana jones with mixed feelings. I have been a huge fan of Ford and the Indiana Jones genre of movies (temples, riddles, traps, adventure) for as long as I can remember. However, there were so much negativity around the trailer and initial reviews such that I expected this movie to bomb just like other Disney 'bombs' in the past few years.
However, this Indiana Jones movie did go beyond my expectations. The initial 20 minutes were classic Indy (Nazis were the villains, action scenes with a mix of badass and goofy stunts), and the train shots were brilliant. After that, I felt the storyline was easy to follow and comprehend, the characters were enjoyable (Mads Mikkelsen did great as a villain), and the time travel stuff were pretty well written and shot as well.
Overall, i felt this movie was enjoyable, fun, and thrilling just like how an Indiana Jones movie should be. Yes, this movie is still somewhat behind the 80s iterations of Indy, but I would confidently say that this movie was miles and miles better than the Crystal Skull
