I wanted to like it, obviously. I’m honestly surprised it’s gotten such great reviews. I got almost half way through and finally couldn’t handle the overwhelming sense of the “I’m highly impressed with myself and I’m just going to tell you about it very eloquently” vibe. Nothing wrong with high self esteem, that’s what we all want, but this is a pretty conceited reflection of something else in my opinion.
