I was hopeful that this would be a great movie, however, it was not. I didn't watch it to the end. I didn't see poverty. I saw nice middle income homes that were full of furniture and modern appliances. Messy, yes. Poverty, no. I know families from Kentucky who were raised poor with 12-13 kids. This movie wasn't about hillbillies. It was about abuse. Physical, mental, drug and verbal abuse. It's sad really.

It was a good movie, not great. It was long and I felt it was more of a performance how well she sang like Whitney.
