I mostly enjoyed learning about the strategy that went into the north relentlessly overtaking the south. Very impressive work by a Commanding General, it is not as though someone passed down this knowledge to him about war strategy, it was intuitive. His ability to remain calm and then act is what I admire most about him and the way he was able to psychoanalyze his opponents provided great impact. The series told the story it was meant to tell, it was about GRANT's early life, his role as the Commanding General for the Union in the Civil War, and the aftermath. The use of actors added depth to the narrative and they did a good job, good production. Great educational piece, definitely learned a lot about the North's attitude during the Civil War. Good to know it wasn't just a power grab and that correcting social injustice was actually a primary factor in the minds of these powerful figures. I definitely gained some new insight, I've not heard the story told like this before.
