Just watched today’s Dateline London - Saturday 3rd April 2022. If there was ever a reason why the BBC needs to maintain this show, today’s show proved it. It was full of erudite opinion and on issues that are mainstream for everyone - international energy supplies and the Ukraine crisis. The views from the UK, Australia and internationally gave a focus of what we can expect in these interlinked issues. I was particularly taken with Jeffrey Koffman’s angry comments on Germany and how it is still buying Russian energy because it doesn’t want its industrial infrastructure to suffer, whereas a 2% drop in the use of such energy really wouldn’t adversely effect things.
