Makes as much sense as THE WIDOWS - A completely nonsensical, waste of talent, time and any other values. Predictable, played for phony effects - awful, don't bother, there is not a shred of value or art here.

A pleasant movie with good actors, but a story that goes nowhere and an ending making no sense. A truly ridiculous waste of time. There are even built in alternate scenes - which only adds to the sense the director ran out of focus and thought this ending would be thought provoking 'a big bang' that turned out to be a big nothing.

While watching, one feels like something big is about to happen, but it never does. There's a lot of skipping around to different time slots and interactions among various players. I think this is meant to suggest a richness and depth to the story but it's just confusing. There are a few scenes where the team of women scientists turn on each other - this plays to one theory that the previous explorer teams killed each other. In the end, the various pieces don't hold together in a way that makes sense or culminates in any SCI-FI, Big Bang way that we care about.

I so wanted her to find her value which was so lost among her two boys and husband - all of which took her for granted in a doormat sort of way. Only the one boy who was unhappy with being his Father's helper at the garage had some awareness of his mother's feelings - as when she suggested he take up cooking classes and was yelled at by husband for 'turning him into a patsy' no son of mine, etc. etc.
On the other hand, I was disappointed she put a stop to her new found freedom and refused to travel to Brussels for the world championship. She could have done it without extending the affair with Robert and gone on from there. I understand there's only so much freedom one can take at one time though.
