I was a huge fan of the first game and pre-ordered Requiem. On the good side, the graphics are top notch. They fixed some annoying aspects of the game such as not having to constantly pick up rocks. As far as playability, Requiem is incredibly easy. The first game had its challenging moments which made it fun to play. I honestly think a toddler could finish this game without trouble. With the addition of offensive weapons like the crossbow, Amecia is way overpowered from the start. Oddly enough, they underpowered Hugo by making him a one trick pony but you barely play him. The biggest disappointment about this game is the story. There is no flow to it. I don’t necessarily mind stories that don’t have happy endings but this one made no sense. The characters change their minds quickly without a character arc. You can see the ending from a mile away. There isn’t a consistent goal (multiple bad guys) so it feels very choppy. You will swear you are at the ending four times before it happens. And there is no time for new characters to develop, they just are. I will also say that the end hints to possible future games in the series and the way the story is pointing means I will most likely not play any future games from the Plague series. The plot holes and unbelievable decision making make this game and most likely any future games a no for me. It’s a sad sequel to a great first game and I wouldn’t suggest spending money on it.
