Watched Lal Singh Chadha and loved it. Yes, there were times when my mind inadvertently made comparisons with the original Forest Gump. Yes, the excitement wasn't there as I already knew the plot. However, to it's credit the movie beautifully adapts the plot to a very Indian context. All the incidents shown are way more relatable. In Forest Gump we see the actual incidents which were woven in the story with a dispassionate gaze whereas in Lal Singh Chadha each incident has more meaning as we as a country have lived through each one of them. It's a soul cleansing movie. When you look at all the upheavals through an innocent, non judgemental gaze. To say the least tears ran out of my eyes many a times through the movie and these weren't tears of anger, hurt or hate. Instead these were the tears that reminded me how simple life actually is when we view it with purity of heart and without prejudice.
