Not what I expected and left super disappointed and confused. The whole theme of the movie was depressing for what was supposed to be about a kids toy. I don’t understand why there was so much hatred between everyone and was honestly super lost at many points throughout the film. Seems like the director/studio was attempting to push a narrative down the audiences throat more so than construct a viable plot line. The relationship between Ken and Barbie was also a huge turn off as it’s nothing like the one depicted in the Barbie universe. Barbie wanted nothing to do with Ken throughout the film and went as far to be borderline toxic and rude. I went with my girlfriend for her Birthday during the premiere weekend, we were super excited and even dressed up. Overall I can say that if given the opportunity I wouldn’t watch it again.
