Very weak effort, poles apart from early Reacher stories. Implausible; the dearth of any substantive plot, or mystery, means it jumps from one random violent incident to the next. No real sense of place - yes, the desert, but this is not properly developed. Reacher agrees to play dead in a morgue to snare the bad guys!!?? Utterly ludicrous - I should have stopped reading there!
The style - an avalanche of brief non sentences (designed to build tension?) doesn't elevate the experience.
Perhaps Reacher has run his course. All involved, writers and publisher etc should hang their heads ...
