Terry Goodkind is an okay writer, but not great and his storytelling could be wonderful but he is overly sadistic..... he can't help himself. It does not add to the story but interrupts it and damages it. I am not a queasy person but I found portions of his book to be way way over the top and brutal. One incident lasted 50 pages. Do not waste your time.
